What Is Footy?
Footy, also known as Aussie Rules or Australian Football, is a fast paced, exciting game that is played with a ball similar in shape but slightly larger than an American football. It combines elements of many different sports, including soccer, ultimate, lacrosse, rugby and even volleyball. The point of the game is to score points by kicking the ball between goal posts at either end of the oval playing field. Players can catch, grab or pick up a ball. Part of what makes Footy so much fun to play and watch is that it is played with the ball in the air, unlike most other ball sports, which leads it to feel more fast paced and makes it more high scoring.
